Album Projections: Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon

For my first formal attempt at projection mapping, I thought it would be neat to highlight the shapes on "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd. This project was inspired by the video: Chaser Effect - Projection Mapping TouchDesigner Tutorial by reflekkt, and it is where I learned these techniques from.

The visuals are not timed to an audio source. Instead, it simply cycles through the different colors coming from the prism. These are in a feedback loop so they fade from one to the next, rather than immediately disappearing. I added a pulsing bloom effect to the other lines (the light going into the prism, and the prism itself).

The alignment of the projection onto the album cover isn't perfect, but I am considering this a proof-of-concept for a larger project. This could be utilized for something like an album launch party, or an art gallery...really anywhere that an artwork is being displayed on a wall. Next, I'd like to create some audio-reactive visuals that relate to the album cover being projected on. (UPDATE: I did! See it here.)
