Album Projections: White Stripes, Talking Heads, Weezer

In my second formal projection mapping attempt, I selected three album covers that I wanted to map visuals onto. The goal was to create audio-reactive visuals that responded to a song from each of the albums.

Below is the final result:

Projection mapping visuals onto De Stijl, Remain in Light, and Weezer (Blue Album).

For the setup, I used an Epson PowerLite 435W and a stand-up projector screen. The projector screen was not very stable, so I accidentally bumped into it before filming the following video. It knocked my visuals out of alignment, so I spent about 10 minutes readjusting them, but they aren't perfect. It is most noticeable with the Weezer visual.

Behind the scenes of the setup. The projector screen had shifted, so the visuals aren't perfectly aligned here.

Why these albums? Well, I really liked the rectangular shapes in The White Stripes album "De Stijl", so that's what I picked first. I pulled the Talking Heads album "Remain in Light" next, since the face shapes provided an interesting opportunity for projection mapping. Lastly, I picked Weezer's Blue Album to complete the color palette of red, white, and blue that I had accidentally created.
